Healthcare Workers

The survey took place between 14 and 17 November 2014 and was conducted throughout all of Russia in both urban and rural settings. The survey was carried out among 1600 people over the age of 18 in 134 localities of 46 of the country’s regions. The answer distribution is presented as percentages of the number of participants along with data from previous surveys. The statistical error of these studies does not exceed 3.4%.

DO YOU KNOW THAT NOT LONG AGO IN MOSCOW THERE WAS A LARGE RALLY OF HEALTHCARE WORKERS AGAINST THE CLOSURE AND MERGING OF HOSPITALS AND MATERNITY HOMES, AND AGAINST LAYOFFS OF DOCTORS AND MEDICAL WORKERS AS PART OF A REFORM TO OPTIMIZE THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM?

I know about it

I have heard about it

31

This is my first time hearing about it

49

It is difficult to say

5

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE REASON FOR THIS RALLY?

An ill-conceived, top-down reform, which only exacerbates healthcare problems

49

The lack of readiness on the part of doctors to adopt necessary radical measures needed to reform the healthcare system

16

It is difficult to say

35

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THE CONSOLIDATION OF HOSPITALS, WHICH ARE PROMISED MORE EQUIPMENT AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES, THE CLOSING OF “INEFFECTIVE” ESTABLISHMENTS, AND THE REDUCTION OF MEDICAL STAFF WILL IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY OF THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM?
