DO YOU GENUINELY BELIEVE THAT VLADIMIR PUTIN IS CONCERNED WITH MAKING MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS TO PEOPLE’S LIVES, OR DO YOU THINK THAT IT IS THE USUAL RHETORIC OF POLITICIANS, AND NOTHING MORE THAN EMPTY PROMISES?

Putin sincerely wants to improve people’s lives, but he is unable to do so because of the resistance of the bureaucracy and a lack of a good leadership team

Russians are inclined to attribute their high levels of trust of the president to the fact that Putin is successfully resolving the country’s problems (37%) or that he will resolve them in the near future (36%). The view that high levels of trust in the president are due to a lack of any good alternatives (which was prominent in 2013) is held by only a quarter of respondents. The share of Russian who believe that the population has already grown tired of awaiting positive results from Putin declined from 59% in 2013 to 38% in 2014, and it remained at the same levels in the 2015 survey (this year 38% of respondents held this point of view).
