Approval of institutions, ratings of parties and politicians

In March, the approval of the main state institutions increased significantly: 83% approve of the activities of the president, 71% approve of the Prime Minister, 70% approve of the government, 59% approve of the State Duma. The share of those who believe that things are going in the right direction in the country has sharply increased. The rating of United Russia reached 54% (of those who decided on the choice), the indicators of other parties have not changed significantly.

 

In March, the share of those who believe that things in the country are generally going in the right direction increased significantly: 69% (in February – 52%). The share of those who believe that the country is moving on the wrong path was 22% (in February – 38%).

The approval of V. Putin has increased: 69% in January, 71% in February and 83% in March 2022, thus reaching the level of the end of 2017 (before the decline caused by the pension reform).

Approval of Mikhail Mishustin’s activities has also increased: his rating was 59% in January, 60% in February, 71% in March 2022.

70% of Russians approve of the government’s activities, about a quarter (27%) disapprove. In February, 55% approved, 42% disapproved.

The increase in approval of the governors’ activities was not so significant: in March, 69% approved of their activities, 27% disapproved.

For the first time since October 2015, the share of those who approve of the activities of the State Duma exceeded the share of those who disapprove: 59% and 36%, respectively. The level of approval of the lower house of Parliament is comparable to the indicators of 2014.

The level of trust in Vladimir Putin (an open question) has increased since February, increased by 10 percentage points and reached 44%. There is also an increase in confidence in Sergei Shoigu – up to 16% (+4 percentage points), Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Mikhail Mishustin and Sergey Lavrov – up to 15%. For the first time, Vyacheslav Volodin entered the top ten most trusted politicians (3%).

Among all respondents, the rating of United Russia has increased by 8% compared to February 2022 and reached 39%. The level of support for the Communist Party has decreased to 11% (in February 2022 – 13%). The electoral ratings of other political parties have barely changed.

Among those who are ready to vote and have decided on the choice of a party or would spoil the ballot, the rating of support for United Russia has increased to 54% (in February 2022 – 44%). 15% (in February 2022 – 15%) who came to the polling stations would vote for the Communist Party. The level of support for the LDPR increased by 2 percentage points and reached 13%, while the Just Russia decreased by 2 percentage points to 6%. The “New People” support remained at the level of 5%.
