Approval of institutions, ratings of parties and politicians: March 2023

In February, the approval ratings of the main public authorities remained virtually unchanged and remain high. The ratings of United Russia and the Communist Party have slightly risen. The ratings of politicians have hardly changed during the month.

At the end of March, the share of those who believe that things in the country are going in the right direction slightly decreased. In February there were 68% of them, this month – 66%. 23% of respondents believe that the country is moving on the wrong path (21% in February).

The level of approval of Mikhail Mishustin’s activities as prime Minister was 71% (70% in February). The share of those who disapprove of his work as prime minister remained at the February level – 20%.

There is a slight deterioration in the assessment of the work of the heads of regions. In February 70% of respondents approved of their activities, 24% disapproved, in March the numbers were 68% and 26%, respectively.

The assessment of the activity of the lower house of parliament remained at the February level: 59% of respondents approve, 34% disapprove.

According to an open question (respondents were asked to name several politicians themselves whom they trust most), the level of trust in Vladimir Putin (from 43% to 41%) and Gennady Zyuganov (from 5% to 3%) decreased slightly in March. Mikhail Mishustin is trusted by 18% of respondents (in February – 17%), Sergey Lavrov – by 15% (as in February), Sergei Shoigu – by 11% (in February – 12%).

In comparison with January, the ratings of the United Russia and the Communist Party have slightly increased, the ratings of the LDPR, New People and the Just Russia have decreased. Among all respondents, the level of support for United Russia was 39% (in January – 37%), the Communist Party – 10% (in January – 9%), the LDPR – 7% (in January – 8%), the Just Russia — 4% (in January – 5%), “New People” – 3% (in January – 4%).

In %% of those who decided which party to choose, the rating of United Russia in November was 54%, the support of the Communist Party was 13%. The electoral ratings of the LDPR, the Just Russia and “New People” were 12%, 6% and 5%, respectively.
