Changes in the country

Most Russians believe that Russia needs change. About half would like full-scale changes, but compared to the previous measurement, the number of such respondents has decreased. First of all, the respondents would like to improve the standard of living and solve social problems, the resignation of various officials, ministers, deputies, as well as the end of the “special operation”.

Among those who believe that things in the country are going in the right direction, slightly more than a third (35%) believe that the country needs drastic changes, another 46% – that minor changes are needed. Among respondents who adhere to the opposite about the state of affairs in the country, 70% are in favor of full-scale changes, 19% are in favor of minor changes.

38% of respondents who approve of the president’s activities believe that the country needs serious changes. Among the respondents who disapprove of Putin, the share of such responses was 79%.

Answering an open question about what needs to be changed in Russia first of all, respondents most often pointed to the need to raise salaries, pensions and the standard of living in general (14%), change the government (11%), end the “special operation” (10%) and solve social problems (9%).

In July 2019, answering this question, respondents also prioritized improving living standards (24%) and changing the system of government (13%). Other than that, the respondents pointed out the need to reduce prices (11%) and fight corruption (10%).
